Storage Management Admin - Arcserve/Veritas Backup - ITD-GD
Job Description:
- Storage Management Administrator - Arcserve / Veritas backup Exec Admin
- Maintain backup solutions and Manage storage solution
- Provide 2nd level technical support, guidance and direction for products supported.
- Analyse and resolve or escalated problems.
- Audit application backup policies and environments to ensure integrity of backup and recovery activities.
- Participate in the recovery of application environments where required.
- Ensure integrity of supported environment.
- Actively and pre-emptively determine possible faults and causes by the execution of pre-determined health and operational checks.
- Manage and resolve problems identified by sys admins or monitoring software
- Work with change and problem management tools
- Hardware /software fault detection and vendor liaison
- Liaise with customer accounts as required
- Analyse and resolve escalated problems within target.
- Investigate, identify and document proposals that will improve application recoverability.
- Document and implement changes to technical standards as required.
- Change and problem management targets are exceeded
- Ensure that customer satisfactory levels are exceeded
Desired Profile :
- 0 - 2 Years experience is required.
- Installation and configuration Arcserve / Backup Exec
- Sound Knowledge of Storage Libraries
- Hands-on experience on configuring tape-drives, scheduling backup jobs/policies
- Experience in managing media pools, critical restorations, database management
- Experience in installing, configuring and managing various Backup Agents
- Knowledge on Disaster-Recovery
Technical Details :
- Arcserve 2000, Brightstor 9, Brightstor 11.1r, Veritas Backup Exec 8.6, 9.0, 10.6
- System administration skills in either AIX or Unix, plus experience with either Windows or Linux systems.
- Administration of Tape Libraries like StorageTek, HP, Dell
- Basic understanding of SAN/NAS architecture"
